IPL Teams 2022
IPL 2022 is promised to be much bigger and better than ever before, which will bring IPL betting to an all-time high. The 15th edition will welcome two new teams, Ahmedabad and Lucknow, who are yet to submit their player drafts. The previous franchises were able to retain four players, each making the upcoming auction worth watching.
By installing 4rabet apk on your phone you will find a lot of good odds on teams, as well as the best players.
The detail for each team, therefore, is yet to come, but here is what we know so far:
CHENNAI SUPER KINGS
The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) can easily be regarded as the best team in the IPL with 4 titles under their belt, 2010, 2011, 2018, and most recently in 2021. Besides, the men in yellow have also managed to bag two Champions League T20 titles twice in 2010 and 2014.
The legendary captain cool, MS Dhoni, continues to be the franchise’s poster boy, with Ravindra Jadeja, Ravindra Jadeja, and Dwayne Bravo giving rise to a well-balanced lineup. Winning in 2021 has put the yellow storm in the hot seat again, and they will be worth watching and suitable for IPL betting while defending their title.
Capitals, previously known as Daredevils, started well in the league’s first two years, but later they seemed to have lost the plot as they finished last in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2018. In December 2018, the franchise name was changed to Delhi Capital.
The change in the name also seems to have changed the fate of the team as they reached the finals in 2019 for the first time while making it into the playoffs in 2021. They will enter the next IPL betting season with a young but stable-looking line-up led by the young-blood Rishabh Pant.
Previously known as Kings X1 Punjab, the Punjab Kings had a promising start in 2008 but could not find lasting success, making them one of the least chosen options for IPL betting. The IPL Board of Governors expelled the franchise under ownership violations. They later got relief from the court, but uncertainty affected Punjab’s plans till 2014 as they were unable to build a strong line-up.
Things seemed a bit better in 2014 as they were able to Put together an exciting team led by Sanjay Bangar as a coach. The franchise reached the final, losing a hard-fought final against KKR. However, they haven’t been able to pick up the pace in any of the following seasons. 2021 wasn’t an exception, as for the third year in a row, they took 6th place in the table with 12 points. With more players up for the auction, 2022 might be the year for the Kings.
KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS
KKR, aka Kolkata Knight Riders, is one of the three teams that have won multiple IPL titles. The team is owned by Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan and is the most popular team in the IPL betting market. The franchise was purchased in 2008 for around 262.5 million rupees, or roughly around $75.09 million.
The first three years of the Knight Horseman under Sorave Ganguly and then Brendon McCullum went pretty severely as the best they finished was the sixth spot despite having the likes of Ricky Ponting, Chris Gayle, and Shoaib Akhtar. However, things changed in 2012, as KKR had a great run and finished at the top spot under Gautam Gambhir, followed by one more title in 2018. The team looked in a great touch under captain Morgan in the last season and was able to reach the finals despite the absence of Andre Russell in the latter part of the tournament.
The Mumbai Indians are the most successful team in the league, with 5 championships under their belt. It’s also the most expensive team as it was first sold in 2008 for a whopping $112 million.
Mumbai has always had a star-studded lineup with Sachin Tendulkar, Sanat Jaasuria, Rohith Sharman, Zahir Khan, Kieron Pollard, and Jasprit Bumrah. Mumbai provided a solid base for Rohit, Bumrah, and Pollard to showcase their skills. In 2021, the runners-up didn’t quite catch up with the pace and didn’t qualify for the playoffs. However, they are always in the top three hot-favorites with the best odds for IPL betting.
Rajasthan Royals was the least expensive team in 2008, and they somehow managed to bag the first-ever IPL title. However, they have lost the spark and gone from bad to worse, featuring bad IPL betting odds. Besides, the franchise has been in and out of controversies throughout the previous decade and even faced suspension in 2013. The team highly relies on the new local talent due to a budget-based approach.
Nevertheless, they have been joined by quite a few international stars, including Ben Stokes, Chris Morris, and Shane Watson. The 2021 season also brought some big names into the team, including Joffre Archer, Jos Buttler, and Stokes; however, none of the big guns was available for most of the tournament. Therefore, the team went through another bad year and finished in the seventh spot.
ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE
Royal Challengers Bangalore has always been the hot favorite thanks to a stellar line-up with many big names, including Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Rahul Dravid, Kevin Pietersen, Chris Gayle, and many more. They were also the second most expensive teams in 2008, worth $111.6 million.
Despite having such big names and a large budget, they are yet to win an IPL title. Their franchise, however, has performed well in all of the seasons as they managed to reach finals three times in 2009, 2011, and 2016. They finished in the 3rd spot in 2021 and lost to KKR in the elements under the captaincy of Virat Kohli. The following season will bring quite a few changes to the team as King Kohli resigned from captaincy and will be available only as a player, thus shaking up their IPL betting odds.
Sunrises Hyderabad came into existence in 2013 after the previous team was sacked due to financial issues. The franchise has seen quite ups and down from being the runners-up in 2018 while finishing in the last spot in 2021.
The team has been graced with a whole line of star players, including Rashid Khan, David Warner, Dale Styne, Kane Williamson, and Shikhar Dhawan though they still feature relatively low IPL betting odds. 2021 was one of the worst seasons for the team, as they lost 8 of their nine games.
